Ages 5-6: Red Groups A-E

Today was day two of the summer program, and we were able to participate in the following activities -

In Drama class:  Yesterday, we read and acted parts of the story of 'The Little Red Hen' to help us understand the characters and the story. We also created a different ending where the little red hen shared her cake. Today we discussed different ways of retelling the story--reading from a book or acting the different characters in the story.  We made headbands or masks to help us perform the different roles.

In Adventure Activities, we played played number groups and “Simon Says”.

Our theme for day two of Games and Movement: God created all things.  We talked about how God created everything, including animals. Children tried to show how different animals move. We used Hula-hoops in the game imitating snake's movements.  We finished our class with good game of soccer.
The kids were very excited and enjoyed the games very much – and we learned about God's creation at the same time.

In music class, we are learning a song, “Keep Your Sunny Side Up” – which helps us teach the children how Jesus helps us handle things that don't go our way.
