(July 15) Ages 5-6: Yellow Groups A-E

In Adventure Activities today, we warmed up with Simon-says and then did the Loop-de-Loop Challenge.

Today in art class, Red A, B, and C classes finished their fish drawing by gluing on paper seaweed and started on making their paper plate crab.  Yellow D & E finished their landscape drawing by painting and adding details with marker.
Meanwhile, Red D completed their ocean life project while Red E started on their paper cup puppet. Yellow A, B, C are finishing up their coral reef project.

We read a new book in 5-6 year old Drama today that might be familiar to you - "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" by Laura Numeroff. It is one of several books written in the same style where one thing leads to another and eventually comes full circle. It's an enjoyable read and fun to act out since the circumstances are a bit silly. We also talked about reality vs. fantasy.

In Games & Movement for Red A,B,C and Yellow D, E our day 7 theme was that “God protects His children”.  We discussed "refuges" with the children and how God is able to protect  them.
Activity: Parachute.
For Red D, E and Yellow A,B,D ::   After having talked about God as Creator and Jesus as Savior, we got down to Holy Spirit as Teacher and Helper.  We played the game Human Knot where a student served as a helper to untangle the others, and we also did a team game where we recorded with markers (flat circles) which team could throw a ball the closest to a target.
