Red D started on their coral reef crayon drawing. The Red E painted their coral reef background with a technique called "wet into wet". The Yellow A, B & C looked at different pictures of sea animals and drew an angel fish.Games & activities Day 6 Theme for Red A,B,C and Yellow D, E:: Taking care of our bodies honors God. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We talked about how people should take care of our temple. Activity: relay games using scooters and foam noodles. Today's classes expanded on the Movement theme with games where two teams matched their skills in soccer dribbling, hoop throwing and bean bag tossing. On the spiritual side, we discussed why Jesus matters to us.
For Red D, E and Yellow A,B,D :: Today we did more of a role playing sort of game with sheep trying to follow a shepherd and wolves obstructing. The game was used to illustrate following Jesus. We also played team games, one involving grabbing the tails (ribbons) worn by the other team, and another where they tried to be the first to put all the ribbons on the other team's side of a line of cones.
In 5-6 year old Drama we finished our "Swimmy" unit by talking about cooperation and how we can all work together in the different communities we are part of. We did an activity where we encouraged each other by saying something nice about another person. Everyone did a great job participating!
In music we learned about the idea that “You Go First” - Teaching that we need to think of others over ourselves.
In 5-6 year old Adventure Activities, some of the groups played the Jump-the-Spots game, which everyone really enjoyed, and then challenged ourselves to jump over a yard stick. We also played a Word-Corner catch game to have fun running around. The other groups played a “Hot Potato” game in which we passed a bean bag around the room, and also played games with hula hoops.
