(July 17) Ages 5-6: Red Groups A-E

We wrapped up our last book in Drama today by reviewing the definition of sequence and why it's important when one is telling a story. We were happy to hear several students were able to use their little books to retell "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" to their families. We also taught sequence by having a scavenger hunt. The students were able to follow the clues in sequence - great job!

Today in Games & Movement for yellow A, B, and C and red D & E:  we had a reflection/response on Jesus returning and our relationship to Him. This was followed by “knight-rider-princess”, and then a thrilling dodgeball match. The Day 9 Theme for red A, B, & C and yellow D & E: God wants us to be thankfulWe discussed with children what they are thankful for and asked them how they can show what they are thankful for.
Activity: game "Prisoners of War".

In art class today, children in Red D, E, Yellow A, B and C completed their paper cup puppets and acted out a short skit with them. Some were animals; some were aliens and some were fairies. They all had fun!
Meanwhile,  Red A, B, and C  started on their paper cup puppets by cutting out shapes with colored paper and gluing them on to their paper cup.  Yellow D and E will be assembling their muffins together by cutting out shapes from the textured paper they painted the day before.

In music class today, we reviewed all our songs and then learned a new song, “This is the Day”. We also reviewed the solfege and musical notes we learned last week. Then, we learned how to play Musical Pictionary.
