(Week One Recap) Ages 5-6: Red Groups A-E

In 5-6 yr old Drama today, we reinforced our understanding of community by thinking first of things in the ocean where the character in our book "Swimmy" lives, then by thinking of our own community and the people and places there. We pretended to visit places in our community by pretending to ride the MTR or bus and acting out some things we might do at these places. For example, we pretended we rode the MTR and walked to a restaurant, ordered and ate food - class was over before we knew it!

Day 5 Theme for Games & Movement: God saves those who believe in Jesus. Today we started with the "Chicken dance" movement and we reviewed yesterday's lesson about Noah. After that, we watched a short movie about Noah's ark and ended with a dodgeball game . The other games and movement class played music musical chairs for warm up and then played minefields afterwards to teach teamwork to the students.

Today in art, the red class will color their fish drawing. Step-by-step, the Red D class drew an angel fish with pencil then traced it over with a marker. The Red E colored in their fish with crayons and some even started on the coral reef background.

Music: Since today is the last day of the week, we had a review session of everything we did for the past few days. We started out with the game "musical corners", which seems to be everyone's favorite! After that, we went through all the songs they learned, along with all the movements and actions!
